In June, we had a great time hosting a crew of our Coastal Chefs from Auckland, along with Simon Eriksen and Andy Gladding from Neat Meat at Tunnel Hill.
The crew of chefs included:
Sid Chopra, executive Chef at Prego Restaurant, Auckland
Makoto Tokuyama Cocoro, owner of Cocoro, Auckland
Elie Assaf, owner of Lebanese Grocer, Auckland
Patrick Ikinofo, executive Chef at Sky City, Auckland
Chris Rendell, oversees a portfolio of restaurants for the Savor Group including Seafarers and Ebisu, Auckland
The crew spent the morning understanding the operation at Tunnel Hill and planting trees.
After lunch, they visited O’Neil’s at Annbank, followed by Bakersxing which included a drive past Tara Hills and the Mackintosh’s.
The day wrapped up with a visit to the Gordon’s lodge for beers and canapes, and an opportunity to connect with more of our Coastal Farmers.
A great evening hosted at the Gordon’s lodge
We loved having our chefs on-farm to see what we do – almost as much as we love eating our lamb at their restaurants!
