LAMBING AT RHUG ESTATE
In February, Sam packed his bags and embarked on his OE. With a desire to experience farming overseas, Sam connected with Lord Newborough from Rhug Estate in Corwen, Denbighshire, Wales – where he secured a job.
Rhug Estate is known for its rich history, and its beautiful property which covers 12,500 acres extending from Gwyddelwern in the north, Carrog to the east, Cynwyd to the south and Maerdy to the west.
Rhug Estate shares many of the Coastal Lamb values through their self-contained field-to-plate operation.
Highlights for Sam have included the drive through takeaway shop on-farm, learning the Welsh way of doing things and hunting with hounds.
